Our Story

From Vision to Action

Rural Impact for Children and Women Empowerment Initiative (RICWEI) was incorporated on the 21st day of March, 2026, under the Companies and Allied Matters Act, CAP C20 LFN 2004, as an Incorporated Trustee (Registration No. 9430700). Founded by a group of passionate Nigerians committed to rural transformation, RICWEI emerged from the urgent need to address the systemic challenges facing women, adolescents, and children in Nigeria's rural communities.

We are a not-for-profit, non-political organization dedicated to creating sustainable change through community-driven programs that empower the most vulnerable.

To empower rural women, adolescents, and children through vocational training, entrepreneurship development, education, healthcare access, and policy advocacy that promotes gender equality and social inclusion.

What We Are Set Up to Achieve

Economic Empowerment

Promote economic empowerment of rural women and adolescent girls through vocational training and entrepreneurship development.

Education & Healthcare

Improve access to quality education and healthcare services for children and women, including maternal and child health interventions, scholarships for indigent pupils, and support to rural schools.

Policy Advocacy

Advocate for policies at local, national, and international levels that promote women and child empowerment, education, healthcare, gender equality, and social inclusion.

Community Leadership

Foster community engagement and leadership development by encouraging women and youth to participate in community decision-making and governance.

Strategic Collaboration

Collaborate with faith-based institutions, government agencies, local organizations, and international development partners to implement sustainable empowerment programs.

Rights-Based Education

Challenge harmful traditional norms — such as early marriage, gender-based violence, and denial of inheritance rights — through advocacy, sensitization, and rights-based education.

Capacity Building

Empower communities, particularly women and adolescents, to participate in development through capacity-building in entrepreneurship, agriculture, and health.
